Climate change and air quality are dominating the headlines and people’s opinions, so the UK is charging ahead into a future of electric vehicles (EV).

Why go electric? The prime minister has confirmed plans to ban the sale of new petrol and diesel cars by 2030, as part of the UK’s 10-point green plan to tackle climate change.

For over a decade electric vehicles have been on the market but their benefits have rarely been communicated, so we’ve looked into a few for you.

The Convenience

Imagine the ease of charging your car at home. At BOOSTEV, we can assist you during the entire process from the design to the installation via a quick call or click of a button. We can set everything up for you…all you need to worry about is plugging your car in!

Yes…electric vehicles are better for you and the environment

If you are wanting to reduce your carbon footprint or cut down on harmful exhaust emissions, switching to EV is a no brainer. Not only are EVs quieter on the roads but imagine the difference to air quality in busy cities?

Transport accounted for a third of all UK greenhouse gas emissions in 2018. Even if you consider the generation of the electricity and the production of the electric cars, they are still responsible for fewer emissions of greenhouses cases over their lifespan to a diesel or petrol car.

As an example, a single electric car saves on average 1.5 million grams of CO2 annually – the equivalent of 4 return flights from Barcelona to London.

Electric vehicles are money savers

When you go electric you will enjoy the benefit of much lower running costs. Not only are electric vehicles cheaper to maintain due to having just one moving component, charging an EV works out a third as much per kilometre as filling the same car with petrol!

There is the initial installation of a charging point, but do you know you may be eligible to take advantage of the OLEV grant from the government for home charging or the workplace scheme for any workplace charging?

The OLEV grant scheme contributes £350 towards the cost of your EV home installation charging point. Similarly, the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a voucher-based scheme that offers up to £350 towards the cost of each charging point at your business (maximum of 40 outlets).

Get in touch with BOOSTEV

We are an OLEV approved installer, covering installations nationwide. Why is this important? This is reassurance your electric car charging point will be installed safely.

We offer an alternative way to plan for the future of electric vehicles via your EV charging infrastructure. The BOOSTEV system creates a future proof EV charging network, resulting in a cost effective and straightforward way to install additional charging points, should you need them in the future.
